IF YOU ARE SEEKING A PRE-SALE APPRAISAL, or would just like a ballpark indication, I can usually give a verbal (or email) opinion free of charge. Valuation fees do not apply if you liaise with me re items you are considering selling. I encourage people to run things past me, to check things out.

WRITTEN VALUATION REPORTS (generally appropriate for insurance, financial reporting, legal compliance) are charged at $25 per listing for Antiques, and $40 for Artworks ($20 for each successive work if there are multiple artworks by the same artist).  Sets or lower value items are grouped where appropriate to save cost. Reports are illustrated, endorsed with my Auctioneers and Valuers Association seal, and returned either electronically (PDF) or in hard copy.

ESTATE DIVISION, PROBATE, and similar matters are often managed with an on-site visit to identify items of value, and then a more basic listing based on individual needs and what the job requires. I charge $120/hr for this service, and usually quite a bit of ground can be covered in an hour or two. Often people have drawn up their own list first, so we are only entering figures as we walk around.

More involved authenticity reports may be undertaken on request.  This may include searching for reliable evidence of an object's documented history, or scientific analysis of physical properties such as patination products (I have BAppSc qualification).

Reports for Pre-CITES Applications undertaken on request.
